We are looking for a cost accountant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our accounting team. General responsibilities include performing transactions and analysis for inventory items and assisting with month-end closing procedures. This position will work collaboratively with other accounting team members and across functionally with Supply Chain and Production/Operations.How You'll Contribute

  • Perform account reconciliations over inventory and related cost accounts
  • Review work orders and work order/manufacturing variances
  • Review, analyze, and report on labor and overhead costs
  • Review and monitor inventory adjustments for appropriateness
  • Account for inventory obsolescence and write-offs by working closely with Operations and other stakeholders
  • Participate in other month-end and year-end closing activities including journal entries and reserve analyses
  • Assist the development of inventory and cost processes, policies, and internal controls
  • Review and analyze fluctuations in average cost
  • Assist in cost accounting's collaboration with financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and other stakeholders to develop product costing and costing forecasts
  • Assist in cost accounting's collaboration with Operations to improve processes and other reporting and analysis
  • Participate in the upgrade and implementation of accounting and operations system/software
  • Assist in the company's annual financial statements audit and other audits/due diligence efforts as needed by addressing audit requests and preparing supporting documentation for audit purposes upon request
  • Assist in various administrative and operations matters / other projects as assigned based on business needs Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA is a plus
    • 5 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in cost accounting strongly preferred. Cost accounting experience in semi-conductor manufacturing industry is a plus
    • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and operational accounting processes
    • Strong knowledge and practical work experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills)
    • Must have great organizational and analytical skills. Be detail-oriented with focus on accuracy
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment, with proven ability to maintain composure
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adhere to tight deadlines
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • A proactive thinker with a desire to initiate and implement process improvements; be creative and not afraid of building things from scratch
    • Team player and solid communicator (written and verbal skills); strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability; be able to interact with cross-functional teams
