Job Description:
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will design and implement
automation equipment to improve the quality and throughput of our
Spiral Module Production and Plate and Frame Module Production
lines. They will develop future-state equipment for large scale
manufacturing of Plate and Frame Modules by gaining an
understanding of the manufacturing process and then considering
what is needed to produce on a very large scale (50x from what we
do today). This position will help with general facility design
(project management with a contractor performing the detailed
design) and site selection for a future facility. As time and
progress allows, the MFG Automation Engineer will also implement
either full or scaled-down versions of automation equipment to our
current processes, both as tests/prototyping for future automation
and to help expand the capabilities of our current facility and
production lines. -Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --- - - -
- - - - -Designs automation equipment both independently and with
the help of equipment contractors/integrators. --- - - - - - - -
-Develop Controls Narratives and detailed Equipment Specifications.
--- - - - - - - - -Manages projects with outside partners. Meets
milestones and communicates with/manages stakeholders across all
levels. --- - - - - - - - -Works with equipment operators to
determine issues and opportunities for improvement. --- - - - - - -
- -Learns processes with a hands-on approach to understand the
intricacies before designing potential improvements. --- - - - - -
- - -Reads and creates electrical one-line drawings,
fabrication/assembly drawings, and Process & Instrumentation
Diagrams (P&IDs). --- - - - - - - - -Prepares manufacturing
documentation and trains operators on new and old
processes/equipment, as necessary. --- - - - - - - - -Prepares
presentations and summaries of projects and experiments to document
progress and communicate results. --- - - - - - - - -Assists in the
development and maintenance of, and compliance to, engineering
standards for manufacturing areas. --- - - - - - - - -Liaising with
R&D to support efforts on the development of new processes and
product scale-ups. --- - - - - - - - -Works with regulatory bodies
to ensure safety, environmental, and design standards are met for
manufacturing processes, especially Class 1 Division 2 Flammable
Environment explosion proof equipment requirements.Other Job
