We are currently seeking a Low Voltage Engineering Technician. This position requires a qualified professional with experience in building hardware-in-loop (HiL) system racks. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.The Role

  • Build hardware-in-Loop (HIL) system racks.
  • Research, procure and assemble hardware needed for the HILs
  • Fabricate and build electrical test equipment (Breakout box) to support integration testing
  • Maintain and update all system HILs
  • Fabricate and build different levels of test benches for various functional testing
  • Support and update all Vehicle integration test benches
  • Modify or rework test bench and vehicle harnesses as required
  • Build custom bench and vehicle wire harnesses
  • Support prototype vehicle builds and work with the Engineers to debug electrical harness issues
  • Support harness validation and quality assessments
  • Support Show car builds and custom modifications
  • Work creatively and efficiently within a multi-disciplinary cooperative environment
  • Manage inventory of parts in the labQualifications
    • Technical degree in electrical or electronics preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in electronics/engineering lab
    • Automotive experience a plus
    • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    • Troubleshooting skills in EV automotive electrical systems, Ethernet, CAN, coax etc.
    • Fabrication, soldering and crimping skills
    • Knowledge of connectors and crimping tools is a plus
    • Experience working with power and hand tools
    • Able to work well under pressure while multi-tasking and managing competing demands and tight deadlines
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and desire for continuous improvement.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced lab environment
