The CAE Engineer, Durability will lead all testing activities for
the systems and components for the complete vehicle development
process. This will include early loads collection and development,
cascading of loads and testing requirements, to full vehicle,
system, and component testing. This position will work with all
testing activities in the company including Regulatory,
Certification, and Compliance testing as well as all system/dyno
and sub-system/component testing.
Responsibilities:
--- Perform strength, stiffness, PSD and fatigue analysis on
chassis, closures and BIW
--- Perform correlation between test and CAE
--- Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis
and test work
--- Able to create mesh from CAD or from rough sketches
--- Support design engineers in making sure the parts meet all the
requirements
--- Able to learn and use nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost,
OptiStruct and Altair products
--- Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques
Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering or similar
field
--- 6 to 10 of relevant experience in vehicle level testing and
development
--- Working knowledge of fatigue
--- Good fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of
materials
--- Proficiency in using ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost,
nCode, OptiStruct
--- Strong knowledge of vehicle performance targets
--- Up to 15% domestic travel may be required
