We are currently seeking a Director, Vehicle Line Program Management for an agile team that has fun bringing cutting-edge products to life. This position requires an experienced professional that can lead multiple vehicle nameplates and product lines from concept, engineering, launch, to ongoing product continuity in the marketplace. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, and to possess the ability to lead and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.The Role:

  • Lead a team of VLEs (Vehicle Line Executives) that own the totality of nameplate life-cycle management and performance across multiple stages of the product development process, to launch, and through to marketplace continuity
  • Ensure that VLEs lead as the final arbitrator for vehicle changes between internal functions including product engineering, software, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, and quality
  • Develop teams that leverage functions such as platforms and modules across multiple vehicle lines to optimize product costs and investment
  • Ensure program readiness by meeting engineering, volume, and quality standards
  • Responsible for making financial and business decisions for the vehicle lines
  • Develop business cases for vehicle development and secure approval from company leadership
  • Provide vehicle line engineering leadership for a large segment of vehicle platforms to achieve segment objectives by balancing engineering requirements with timing, cost, investment, quality, performance and manufacturing capabilities in concert with customer expectations
  • Mentor and guide the organization to develop skills and competencies for program management and cross-functional collaboration to deliver enterprise goals and objectives related to vehicle launchesQualifications:
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to prioritize competing requests and needs
    • Highly collaborative; comfortable working with people in a matrixed environment
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to foster and support a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork; able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments
    • Able to analyze data to guide strategic planning
    • Strong technical aptitude necessary to drive development of a high technology product
    • Comfortable to give effective presentations to and facilitate meetings with all levels of the organization
    • Able to travel frequently and internationally
    • 10+ years of experience in automotive industry product development and program management preferred
    • 5+ years of experience program managing high dollar value products/product development preferred
    • Experience as an engineer in automotive, aerospace or other relevant product area preferred
    • Experience taking multiple products to market as a program manager or other relevant leader with direct experience
    • Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction), product launch, and post-sales support preferred
    • Experience working closely with all functions of an enterprise (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Industrial Design, etc) to manage the product development life cycleAt Lucid, we don't just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
