Job Description:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based Medical Affairs professional who is primarily responsible for scientific exchange with thought leaders and other HCPs in their assigned territory. The individual will also serve as a scientific resource to support medical affairs activities such as medical congress staffing and advisory boards, as well as cross-collaborative training initiatives. The individual reports to Senior Field Medical Director, Medical Affairs. Principal Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships with thought leaders and other HCPs in the assigned territory
• Engage in scientific exchange in response to thought leader requests
• Deliver high-quality, impactful scientific presentations to HCPs and audiences at all levels and in various settings, including payors
• Compliantly support company sponsored research, investigator-initiated research, and publications
• Support planning and execution of advisory boards
• Stay well-informed of emerging scientific literature/clinical data
• Support the company conference strategy, including staffing of scientific booths at major conferences and scientific coverage
• Collaborate with the broader organization to provide scientific support and communicate scientific insights
• Attend regional and national medical conferences to enhance company and product awareness
• Must be committed to full compliance with all company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws including PhRMA guidelines for field-based personnelQualifications:
  • Advanced science/clinical degree (e.g. MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA)
  • 5+ years field Medical Liaison experience
  • Prior experience in Hepatology and Gastroenterology preferred
  • Understands and can effectively communicate scientific information
  • Strong oral communication, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Able to manage a frequent travel schedule with up to 60% overnight travel and has a valid drivers' license
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills [MS Office and Windows] and willingness to learn new applications
  • Excellent organizations skills
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Launch experience strongly preferredThe anticipated salary range for Medical Science Liaison is $195,000 - $235,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. CymaBay is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
