Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel \n Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position requiring a NJ or compact license and strong critical care skills. \n \n Responsibilities\n Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital with a 19-bed unit Patient population includes critically ill children, including those with cardiac needs Required to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on skillset and hospital demands Shifts are 3x12 hour days, 7:00 to 19:30, with every other weekend required Patient ratio averages 1:2 or greater, based on acuity and census Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring equipment Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies is required Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is Epic; experience preferred Responsible for managing complex pediatric ICU cases including cardiac and respiratory support Floating to related pediatric units is mandatory within the nurse's skillset Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment Navy blue scrubs are required for all shifts Modules and EPIC charting training must be completed prior to starting Time off (RTO) must be requested prior to offer; no changes allowed once onsite Locals are accepted at the same rate \n \n Requirements\n Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of documented cardiac experience Experience with pediatric telemetry and advanced respiratory support required Previous employment with specified health system requires at least a 1-year separation before eligibility First-time travelers are not accepted for this position \n Benefits\n High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts \n American Traveler Job ID P-626254.
