accredited school of professional registered nursing. Description:
The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe,
effective, quality nursing care according to the philosophy and
goals of the nursing department. The RN utilizes Jean Watson’s
Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care to assess, plan,
implement, and evaluate care for all patients assigned to their
care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of
patients toward goals while maintaining a therapeutic relationship
with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Care is
provided based on the specific physiological, developmental, and
psychosocial needs of each patient. Supports the mission, vision,
and values of the organization. The RN is considered competent when
consistently demonstrating the ability to apply scientific
knowledge in nursing practices. Provides care consistent with the
interdisciplinary plan and principles of Relationship Based Care.
Assesses patient physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing
basis and formulates nursing diagnoses. Collaborates with clients
to create care plans that ensure safety, comfort, hygiene,
protection, disease prevention, and restorative measures. Performs
essential nursing skills and explains treatments to clients and
families, teaching them how to manage health needs. Evaluates the
effectiveness of care plans through observations, signs and
symptoms, and communication with clients and health team members.
Demonstrates current knowledge and safe use of equipment,
instrumentation, and medications. Delegates tasks to care team
members based on their scopes of practice and supervises nursing
care accordingly. Acts as an advocate for clients by initiating
action to improve healthcare or challenge decisions against
clients' interests. Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate,
ethical care within legal standards. Coordinates patient care
activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals,
and ancillary team members. Utilizes effective communication skills
to facilitate safe patient handoffs and documents nursing care per
hospital policies. Uses manual and automated information systems to
improve efficiency. Accountable for meeting unit and organizational
goals related to patient satisfaction. Contributes to a positive
patient care experience through individual interactions with
patients and families. Resolves complaints and investigates issues,
providing information to management as needed. Performs all
physical duties associated with nursing, which may include lifting,
bending, pushing, pulling, and standing. Completes all annual
organizational requirements for employment. Requirements Required
