San Francisco, California, United States Software and ServicesAdd to Favorites Senior Software Engineer - CloudKit ClientDescriptionWe work on the client-side of iCloud services, building the foundations for a secure and private cloud from device to device encrypted storage in the cloud to protected computation. Apple's commitment to privacy runs deep and this team is key to extending this commitment to the cloud. This position will involve close collaboration with the CloudKit team, several teams working on server components as well as Apple's Cryptography and Privacy teams. This job entails both low-level (C/Objective C, libdispatch, POSIX APIs) and system-level skills (synchronization protocols, framework design, IPCs, multi-process performance work, system-wide resource sharing.) Reliability is essential, and we're looking for engineers with a real passion for building complex systems that will seamlessly recover in the event of errors.Responsibilities

  • Work with adopters to craft clear APIs
  • Work with the network and file system stacks to build performant daemons
  • Work with our server counterparts to design scalable features and protocols
  • Implement core components of the cryptographic protection of cloud dataMinimum Qualifications
    • 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Objective-C, C, Swift, or C++
    • Experience in Swift concurrency
    • Experience in building system-level frameworks and APIs
    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experiencePreferred Qualifications
      • Experience building on Apple Platforms (macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, etc.)
      • Ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people
      • Experience with Event-based programming or inter-process communication is a plus
      • Proven track record of working on rapid development cycles and shipping software on tight schedulesAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
