Lucid is looking for an experienced compliance attorney and leader to join our legal team. This role will support Lucid's business leaders and stakeholders in the management and handling of compliance matters and will be a key member of the legal leadership team.

The Role

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program for legal and ethical compliance that meets all applicable legal requirements and industry standards
  • Implement and manage compliance policies, protocols, and training
  • Audit company procedures, policies, and practices to identify potential risks
  • Investigate allegations of legal and ethical compliance violations
  • Develop and implement risk-based action plans in connection with internal audits and investigations
  • Coordinate with regulatory and government officials at various levels and respond to inquiries
  • Manage government reporting on various compliance matters
  • Counsel company management on legal and ethical compliance laws, regulations, and requirements
  • Develop and implement training regimens for compliance topics
  • Work seamlessly and collaboratively within the legal team and as a legal business partner to multiple internal business stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of substantive compliance experience with a corporate legal department or law firm in privacy, anti-corruption, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, and other areas
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively relay complex information in a concise format
  • Practical business judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects
  • Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibility
  • Law degree (J.D.) from ABA-accredited institution
  • CIPP credentials preferred
  • Eligible to practice law in California (either as in-house counsel or admission to State Bar)
