Job Description:

The Geospatial Development team at RMS is building a unified end-to-end workflow for geographic information in global risk management, encompassing functions from geocoding and hazard determination to map design and display. By activating the inherently geographic elements of disparate data sources, we enable teams at RMS to expose otherwise obscure connections, and our customers to extract actionable insights to apply in their business processes. If you're one of the rare programmers who combines geospatial reasoning and high-quality application development, and if you're eager to participate in the full spectrum of geographic information science - from location modeling to environmental analysis to data visualization - then we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will use your expertise in both software development and geographic analysis to identify and operationalize the elements that can make or break the success of high-end catastrophe modeling. You will work with advanced researchers in GIS and geostatistics to help make every risk known by making every risk found - solving complex problems at multiple scales, using a massive store of physical and human-geographic data from more than 270 countries and territories around the world.

The Senior Geospatial Development Engineer on our team will help create state-of-the-art commercial and consumer application solutions to understand and manage risks, from earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods, to terrorism and infectious disease. An ideal candidate will be a hard-working and creative geospatial software engineer who has experience building innovative applications at a variety of scales, from spatial models and automations to SaaS applications with microservices. You will take ownership of services key to our business and have a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge products used by global customers every day. Your success means the high-quality of deliverables, strong engineering practices, fast time to market and increased customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will:

Engage with an experienced, cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, develop, and deploy innovative enterprise and consumer products

Analyze requirements, evaluate risks, architect solutions that delight users despite technical challenges
