Cepheid is working to build a strong Safety Culture across all
sites globally. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert
in Environmental Health & Safety for Cepheid in at the level as
well as in a global capacity. The role will be responsible for
managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of
environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure
compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation at the Newark
manufacturing locations and supporting throughout Cepheid as
Manage, implement and maintain EHS compliance and management
systems and programs in accordance with governmental and company
requirements and to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk
Partner with Cepheid site leaders to continuously improve the
safety culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS
programs: Interface with site EHS committees, as well as the
Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams
Evaluate proposed Federal, state, and local EHS compliance laws
and regulations to determine impact to compliance programs and
Manage environmental compliance metrics including Storm,
hazardous material management, Air permits, Life Safety, Hazardous
Wastes, Form R reporting, Spill Prevention Countermeasures and
Control Programs and chemical tracking and inventory programs
- Completes audits, IH sampling, ergonomic assessments, and
assists in pollution prevention activities.
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related work experience OR
Master's degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience
OR Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience.
Experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety and
with EHS compliance and management systems and programs
Strong project management skills as the position requires
project manage across global operations
Strong data management and analysis skills as the position will
be responsible for data management for global ESH.

Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several
hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
Manage EHS training requirements globally
Will travel both domestically and internationally up to 30%
