Job Description:

Overview:
The logistics specialist position interfaces directly with clients supply chain team and third party expediters both domestic and international. The position manages activity supporting shipping and receiving events to ensure the integrity of inventory management, compliance, delivery cycles, and staging for pick up and or delivery. The position has direct reports overseeing tactical activities within the related shipping and receiving functions.

Responsibilities:
-Coordinate the routing of import/export bookings with airlines and other carriers of aircraft partsTimely preparation of schedules, rates and quotes for customers and overseas agentsPrepare all necessary shipping documentation related to international bookings Noncompliant Parts an ensure all documentation is produced in accordance with and in adherence to US Customs rules/regulations as well as country of destinationEnsure that all HazMat shipments are properly packaged and shipped in full compliance with IATA, and/or DOT requirements and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence to both customers and shipping carrierProactively monitor and manage key performance indicators in terms of communication, timeliness and accuracy in planning, scheduling, and execution workflowsExecute root cause analysis methodologies utilizing all resources available to facilitate troubleshooting and avoid failure/defects productionsPlan and communicate all shipment's detailed logistics, utilizing all available transportation intelligence resources considering all but not limited to regions' time differences, transit times, costs, insurance coverages, claims process, weather, potential delays shipping , air/ground road challenges, carriers local partners, shipping options in different parts of the country/abroad, shipments' weight/size limitationsInitiate continuous process improvement activities and monitors results utilizing continuous improvement plans, approved by client and SupplierCohesively work with and establish strong open lines of communications with existing client's preferred carriers; Supplier to sustain and enhance partnerships' value in terms of effective delivery and proactive approach to problem resolutions Collect and distribute client customer relevant metrics and develop customer performance reportsInitiate, coordinate, communicate and follow up on any activities related to damage claims, credits for delays, etc

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience2 years relevant transportation operations experience, including carrier management, transportation planning and scheduling, project management and logistics analysisIntermediate skills in using MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required.
