This FP&A role is responsible for leading and supporting the forecasting, budgeting, and reporting process for the growing retail operations of the Lucid Studios and Service Centers. This role is focused on planning and reporting for Payroll, OpEx, and CapEx for all retail locations. In addition, the role will help to provide leverage to the broader Retail Finance team, lead ad hoc analysis for stores, maintain and improve store reporting, and help ensure oversight of store expenses. The candidate will be required to effectively partner with key stakeholders including Retail Operations, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Marketing, & many others.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly reporting and consolidations of forecasts and budgets for the Retail Operations, including headcount, operating and capital expenses
  • Ensure budget and forecasts are based on sound assumptions and analytics, are accurate and submitted on time, and have been appropriately vetted and reviewed by relevant business partners using effective communication materials
  • Maintain expense tracking, forecasting, and expenditure control processes to support month-end and quarter-end
  • Deliver analytical insights to track, optimize, and challenge Retail operations to support decision making (i.e. Same Store Comparisons, Market Comparisons, etc.)
  • Become the SME on proper accounting treatment in Actuals and Forecast of current and future lease obligations under lease accounting standards (ASC 840, ASC 842, IFRS 16)
  • Prepare and validate journal entries (accruals & re-classes) and analyze open commitments/purchase orders for accuracy
  • Manage the P2P process for all retail operations spend activities
  • Recognize areas to improve the effectiveness of our financial planning and forecasting activities to streamline and improve processes
  • Collaborate with accounting and other finance partners to bridge actual results to plan and identify cost savings opportunities
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting - MBA/CPA a plus
    • Additional qualifications in mathematics, computer science, statistics would be a bonus
    • 5-7 years of work experience or involvement in retail operations, retail planning, and forecasting experience, with a minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience
    • Knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles and processes, including in-depth knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 840, ASC 842, IFRS 16)
    • Proven experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting, closing, and reconciling operating spend; ability to effectively articulate variances and financial stories in a clear and concise manner
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with various business partner relationships and management levels
    • Proven organization skills with ability and flexibility in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, growth environment
    • Proven ability developing and improving processes, including automating reporting and forecast modeling
