As an Experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic at CarMax, you will perform a range of duties including vehicle repair, maintenance, inspections, and various customer service activities. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repair tasks including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical repairs. Conduct detailed inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and functionality. Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles through our proprietary database tools. Collaborate with service advisors to provide clear and detailed estimates of repair costs. Communicate effectively with team members and customers about the status and concerns regarding vehicles. Stay current with the latest automotive technology and apply new knowledge to daily tasks. Adhere to CarMax’s safety policies and workplace standards. Advanced knowledge of automotive systems and components Excellent diagnostic skills Proficiency in using automotive repair tools and equipment Strong problem-solving abilities Effective communication and customer service skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. ASE Certification preferred. Certification from a vocational school or technical college in Automotive Service
